Amanda was raised by her grandparents and was given more freedom to explore and learn than most children. She lost both parents at an early age to a Romulan attack. She is not extremely fond of Romulans. Her best friend in the Academy Patty Farnsworth was assimilated by the borg, so Amanda also has no friendly feeling toward the borg either. She is now serving on the USS Excelsior as Asst. Chief Tactical Officer. Since she has become a memeber of the crew, she has formed many diversed friendships and unfortunately some not so friendly relationships. Her Klingon heritage is strong in her and she would gladly die defending her ship or any of her crewmates no matter what relationship they hold personnally. To Amanda duty comes first before any other item on her list. Her cousin Kahless has given her a Bat leth that was her Fathers and she keeps it with her at all time. Even though Amanda does not look Klingon, she has the stamina and strength of a Klingon woman. Amanda is trained and a formital opponent with the bat leth. She also posseses skills in other weapons, including rifles, phasers, and knives of different cultures. Her hand to hand combat skills are equal to that of the other male crewmembers as well.
Amanda is a very easy going person, but can be angered fast if her honor is at stake. She doesnt like to be lied to or be accused of false accusations. She will be the first to jump in defense of another crew member if they are attacked or accused falsly. She has on several occassions put her own person in harms way to keep other officers from being harmed. To gain her loyalty and trust is not easy but once gained it will last a life time. Amanda is not a person to cross unless you are intending to see the fight through.
After receiving a message from her grandparents, Amanda has found out that her scientist mother had put romulan DNA into her before she was born. Making Amanda 1/2 Klingon, 1/4 romulan 1/4 human. This has caused a great unrest in Amanda. She has found out that she was part of the Chal experiment.
